Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 8:25pm on Tuesday evening on Middle Road in Devonshire in the area of Christ Church. Details are sketchy but it appears that a 30 year old woman was riding a motorcycle traveling east on Middle Road and a truck was traveling in the other direction when the vehicles collided. The 30 year old woman was taken to the hospital where she is being treated for serious chest injuries. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision to call PC Linnell Williams at 295-0011.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Around 10:20pm today, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Trimingham Road in Paget involving a truck and a motorcycle. It appears that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. As a result the motorcycle rider, a 30 year old Devonshire man, was trapped under the truck and had to be extricated by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel. He sustained serious head injuries as well as a broken right leg and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The truck driver was apparently uninjured. Traffic was diverted away from the scene at north & south round-a-bout.

Robbery - Around 12:30am today, Police attended a reported robbery on North Shore Road in Devonshire in the vicinity of Sea View Gym. It appears that around 12:15am the complainant, a 31 year old Devonshire man, was standing outside his residence using his cellular phone when he was approached by three unknown men, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. The suspects took the Devonshire man’s BlackBerry cellular phone and made good their escape on foot up Tribe Lane. The complainant was not injured.

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke

Around 12:20am today, Police received reports of gunshots in the St. Monica’s Road/The Glebe Road, Pembroke area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity including speaking with area residents. This area is one of several that Police regularly conduct high visibility patrols in and will continue to do so.

Around 6:30am today, Police returned to the area to continue their search, including officers from the Forensic Support Unit. Forensic evidence found suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured. An investigation into this matter is underway.

Arrests - Around 2:15pm on Thursday, Police executed a search warrant at a Princess Street, Pembroke residence. As a result, a 39 year old Pembroke woman, a 23 year old Pembroke man and an 18 year old Pembroke man were arrested for offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Robbery - Around 9:40pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the complainant, a 30 year old Pembroke man, was riding his motorcycle along Bishop Spencer Road in Pembroke near the junction with The Glebe Road when two motorcycles with two unknown men on each approached him from behind. The unknown men caused the Pembroke man to stop and brandished bladed articles as well as a blunt object before chasing the complainant, who managed to escape unharmed. The four would be assailants then left the scene taking the 30 year old Pembroke man’s motorcycle, a silver/grey Honda Scoopy 125cc license #BH 019, with them.
