Robbery - Around 9:40pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the complainant, a 30 year old Pembroke man, was riding his motorcycle along Bishop Spencer Road in Pembroke near the junction with The Glebe Road when two motorcycles with two unknown men on each approached him from behind. The unknown men caused the Pembroke man to stop and brandished bladed articles as well as a blunt object before chasing the complainant, who managed to escape unharmed. The four would be assailants then left the scene taking the 30 year old Pembroke man’s motorcycle, a silver/grey Honda Scoopy 125cc license #BH 019, with them. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Damage Only RTC/Hit & Run

Around 6pm on Wednesday, Police officers were on mobile patrol in a marked Police vehicle traveling along Middle Road in Warwick when they observed an unknown young man riding a motocross cycle on the road without a helmet. Officers followed the motorcyclist to inform him of the offences he was committing when he accelerated away through traffic in a westerly direction. However, the motorcyclist collided with a car at the junction with Greendale Lane soon after and fell to the ground. He got up and fled on foot heading back towards T. N. Tatem Middle School with Police in pursuit, also on foot. The suspect was able to make good his escape and is described as a light skinned male, approximately 5’5” tall with low cut black hair; he is believed to be in his teens or early 20s. The motocross cycle was impounded by Police. The driver of the car involved in the collision, a 71 year Southampton woman, was not injured. The car received rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.

Disturbance

Around 4:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a disturbance near the junction of Dundonald Street West and Bulls Head Hill, in the vicinity of Bulls Head car park. On arrival officers found two men in a confrontation in the middle of the road, one brandishing a bladed article. As a result the suspect, a 38 year old Pembroke man was subsequently arrested, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. The victim, a 38 year old St. George’s man, sustained injuries to his left arm and right hand. His injuries are not believed to be serious. Inquiries into this incident are underway and a court appearance is anticipated in due course.
