Assault

Around 10:45pm on Friday, Police received a report of an assault. It appears that the victim, a 22 year old Hamilton parish man, was assaulted by a group of men brandishing various objects on North Church Lane in Hamilton parish. The victim sustained lacerations and abrasions to his head and body. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. At last check he was in stable condition on a general ward. Three St. George’s men, aged 20, 21 & 22 were later arrested in connection with this matter. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

bps logoInjury RTC - Around 6:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Aldie Drive involving a rental cycle and a truck. It appears that the rental cycle was traveling east on Middle Road and the truck was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 29 year old Smith’s parish woman, sustained head as well as internal injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the truck, a 42 year old Warwick man, was not injured.

Around 6:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Aldie Drive involving a rental cycle and a truck. It appears that the rental cycle was traveling east on Middle Road and the truck was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 29 year old Smith’s parish woman, sustained head as well as internal injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the truck, a 42 year old Warwick man, was not injured. The rental cycle received extensive front end damage while the truck was not damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery - Around 7:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery on St. John’s Road in Pembroke. It appears that the victim, a 19 year old Pembroke man, was riding an auxiliary cycle west on St. John’s Road when he was approached by an unknown man on a motorcycle who rode up alongside him. The suspect demanded money from the Pembroke man and managed to bring the victim’s cycle to a stop.

Robbery

Around 7:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery on St. John’s Road in Pembroke. It appears that the victim, a 19 year old Pembroke man, was riding an auxiliary cycle west on St. John’s Road when he was approached by an unknown man on a motorcycle who rode up alongside him. The suspect demanded money from the Pembroke man and managed to bring the victim’s cycle to a stop. The suspect then brandished a bladed article and removed a black wallet, a gold chain and two gold rings from the 19 year old Pembroke man before making good his escape. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a yellow skinned male with facial hair of muscular build believed to be in his 30s; he was wearing a grey hooded top, dark coloured jeans and a black helmet with a mirrored visor.

Injury RTC - At 4:05pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Camp Hill involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the victim, a 10 year old Southampton girl and her brother were walking across the pedestrian crossing opposite Heron Bay Marketplace, as traffic in both directions had stopped to allow them to cross the road.

At 4:05pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Camp Hill involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the victim, a 10 year old Southampton girl and her brother were walking across the pedestrian crossing opposite Heron Bay Marketplace, as traffic in both directions had stopped to allow them to cross the road. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Warwick man, was traveling east on Middle Road, overtook the eastbound line of traffic and collided with the 10 year old girl. The victim sustained bruising to her right foot and abdomen while her brother was apparently not injured. The motorcyclist was not injured; however his cycle received minor front end damage.
