Man Injured in Assault

At approximately 8:40pm on Friday police attended a report in an incident that took place on Happy Valley in Pembroke. Upon police arrive it was ascertained that a man was assaulted by a male with a machete outside Belvins Store on Happy Valley Road and taken from the scene by private car. Details at this point are very limited however an active investigation into this incident is now underway. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen this incident or who may have any information that may assist in this investigation to call 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline number on 800-8477.

Death of 25 Year Old Woman [Updated]

At 1:07pm on Sunday, police responded to a report of an incident that took place on Watlington Road West.

Details are limited at this time but it appears that a 25 year old Devonshire woman was found in an unresponsive state inside of her dwelling. An on call doctor attended the scene and certified her time of death at 2:05pm.

No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.

Reported Armed Robbery Witness Appeal Continues

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses to a reported armed robbery that occurred around 1:50pm Thursday March 24th at T&L Budget Warehouse on St John’s Road, just 100 meters before North Shore Road and Admiralty House in Pembroke.

The suspects escaped on a black motorcycle with an undisclosed amount of cash and were described as dark brown complexioned males – one wearing all black and the other a black top and grey pants.

Reported Armed Robbery at Pasta Basta

Around 9:50pm on Sunday, March 13th police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Pasta Basta on Elliot Street in the City of Hamilton.

It appears that a lone male entered the restaurant brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money.

The offender, described as approximately 6 feet tall wearing a red mask, black pants and a brown top, then made good his escape with a quantity of cash.

Witnesses Intervene in Disturbance at Junction of Court and Angle Street

Police were called to a club on the corner of Court and Angle Street on a report of a disturbance that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that an alteration between three males took place inside the club resulting in all parties being escorted out by security.

Once outside two of the males involved with the scuffle were attacked by the other male's four friends. Members of the public saw the attack and separated both parties.

Reported Firearm Incident at BAA Field

Police attended a report  of an incident that took place at BAA Field on Saturday night at 10:50pm. Upon police arrival it was forensically confirmed that a firearm had been discharged in the area, however no one was injured. Details surrounding this incident are still unfolding but it appears that a football game between Ireland Rangers and BAA was in its final stages when a male discharged a firearm from the southern side (Serpentine Road) of the field right beside the perimeter wall. All players and match officials retreated to safety and the scene was processed by the relevant Police Officers.

Man Robbed of Cash and Other Items

Around 3:45am on Saturday 16th of January 2016, police responded to a report of a robbery which occurred in the North Hill, Pembroke area.

It was reported that the 65 year-old victim was about to enter his residence when he has grabbed from behind and forced to the ground by an unknown male suspect who made demands for money.  The suspect then robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash and other personal items before making good his escape. 

Reported Serious Two Vehicle Collision in Devonshire

Around 4:30pm on Saturday, January 9th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two vehicle collision on Tee Street in Devonshire near the junction with Berry Hill Road.

It appears that a car and a motorcycle being driven in opposite directions along Tee Street collided. The car then struck an embankment and overturned, ending up on its roof.

Injured Motorcyclist Now Recovering on a General Ward

At last check Sunday morning (November 29th), the 33 year old St. George’s man injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with the kerb along Crow Lane in Pembroke, near the junction with Corkscrew Hill around 2:30am Friday, November 20th was in stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The investigation regarding this collision continues and any witnesses should contact the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.

Injured Motorcyclist Treated & Discharged From Hospital [Updated]

The 33 year old St. George’s man injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with the kerb along Crow Lane in Pembroke, near the junction with Corkscrew Hill around 2:30am Friday, November 20th was treated and later discharged from the hospital.

He was initially warded in the Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries regarding this collision continue and any witnesses should contact the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.

Update: Monday, November 23rd - Injured Motorcyclist Remains in ICU in Stable Condition
