Around 12:15pm on Saturday, Police received a report of an attempted robbery at the St. Georges Golf Course. It appears that the victims, a 48 year old Paget man and a 44 year old Pembroke woman, were in a golf cart making their way to the #1 green when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article.
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 48 year old Rudell Smith of Southampton. Mr. Smith was involved in a serious road traffic collision on Ord Road in Paget near the junction with Norden Lane around 7:10pm on Saturday, when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck an embankment after colliding with a young woman on a pedal cycle and a young man walking with her. Mr. Smith was rushed to KEMH via ambulance but subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 8pm Saturday.
Around 7:10pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision on Ord Road in Paget near the junction with Norden Lane involving a motorcycle, a pedal cycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on Ord Road when the rider, a 48 year old Southampton man, attempted to negotiate a left hand bend.
At 12:20pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Middle Road, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 9:30am and 12 noon that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an I-Pod, an I-Phone and a portable Samsung DVD player. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 12 noon today, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick between Khyber Pass and Longford Road involving an auxiliary cycle, a car and a truck. It appears that the truck was traveling east on Middle Road and the auxiliary cycle was behind the truck also traveling east. The car was traveling in the opposite direction.
At 6:15pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Roberts Avenue, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:50am and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole a 57” Sony TV, a PlayStation 3 video game system and a quantity of jewelry.
Around 8:55pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Ferry Drive, St. Georges residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 7:30am and 8:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 4:10am on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at the Washington Mall in the City of Hamilton. It appears that sometime between 3am and 4am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises and shattered the glass doors of two stores. Another store adjacent to the Washington Mall also had its glass door shattered.
