Advisory: Police Motorcycle Training Course March 12th – March 29th

The motoring public is advised that the Bermuda Police Service Driver Training Unit will be conducting a Standard Police Motorcycle Course from Monday, 12th March until Thursday, 29th March 2018.

The officers on the course will be riding in a group of three and at times, at high speed. Lights and sirens may also be used during the training.

Vehicle Disposal Notice

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that the following vehicle disposal list will be published in the Royal Gazette on February 23rd 2018 and March 9th 2018.

Any vehicle not claimed within twenty-one (21) days of the final notice, will be disposed of in accordance with the Police Property Act, 1921.

Update: A 36 year old man has been arrested in connection with the bomb threat at the courts today.

Important Notice For BPS Criminal Record Check Application Submissions

Effective 1st December 2017 all completed BPS criminal record check applications may only be submitted at the Criminal Records Office – located at Police Headquarters, Prospect Devonshire – Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.

We apologise for any immediate inconvenience this change may cause, but this will facilitate more expedient processing of applications.

Traffic Diversions Due to Bus on Fire [Updated]

Traffic diversions are currently in effect on Middle Road, Warwick near junction with St. Mary's Road due to a bus on fire. Apparently there are no reported injuries. Police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service are on scene.

Update: The section of Middle Road, Warwick near St. Mary’s Road has since been re-opened to normal traffic flow after the fire damaged bus was removed from the scene.

Missing Juvenile: 16 Year Old Azrah Smith

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating 16 year old Azrah Smith who was last seen on Monday evening. 

He is described as a small framed, brown complexioned male, 116 pounds with a close haircut. He is known to frequent eastern end of the island especially in the St. David's area.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Azrah Smith is asked to contact police on 295-0011.

Traffic Advisory

 The Bermuda Police Service recognizes that on Christmas Day a number of the island residents converge on Elbow Beach for festive celebrations.This results in vehicles being illegally parked on South Road and surrounding areas causing major traffic delays and safety hazards. In addition, it inhibits the response time of emergency vehicles attending possible life threatening incidents.
