The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 18 year old Jason Lightbourne of Paget. Jason died of gunshot wounds sustained during an incident on Ord Road in Paget around 4:05am on Sunday. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Update & Witness Appeal

Police are actively pursuing all leads in the two major incidents that took place in the early morning hours of Sunday morning. Around 2:40am on Sunday, a 19 year old Devonshire man was assaulted on Frog Lane in Devonshire with a bladed article. And around 4:05am on Sunday, 18 year old Jason Lightbourne died after sustaining gunshot wounds on Ord Road in Paget.

Burglary

Thu, 2006-07-20

At 4:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Orange Valley Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 1:30pm and 3:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry while they were away from the home.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the assault of a 31 year old Hamilton parish man on Front Street in the City of Hamilton by a group of men around 6pm Wednesday, July 5, 2006 following the World Cup Semi-Final game France vs. Portugal. Initial inquiries revealed that there were several witnesses to the assault, and we are encouraging these individuals to come forward and assist Police with their investigation.

Burglary

At 10:25am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Railway Trail, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:05am and 9:50am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry while he was away from the home.

Injury RTC

Tue, 2006-07-18

Around 11:40pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on The Causeway in St. George's reportedly involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on the Causeway when the rider, a 28 year old St. George's man, alleges he was struck from behind by a white Volkswagen car, causing him to lose control of the cycle.
