Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke

Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident that took place around 10:30pm Monday in the area of Mount Hill and Overview Hill in Pembroke. Upon Police arrival it was ascertained that an unknown male discharged a firearm at a 17 year old Pembroke man; however the 17 year old was not injured. The suspect then made good his escape. Police are appealing for any witnesses, anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident or anyone with any information to contact Police on 295-0011 or call the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline at 800-8477.

Witness Appeal - Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 2:05pm on Saturday 10th July 2010, in the area of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys parish. The victim, a 30 year old Paget man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, he has received medical treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for his injury and was released a short time later. The injury is not believed to be life threatening. Investigations into this matter are ongoing and all lines of inquiry are being explored, including the examination of forensic evidence collected at the scene.

Update: Serious Injury RTC - Around 10:10pm on Sunday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury near the junction of North Shore Road and Jennings Road in Smith’s parish involving a taxi and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on North Shore Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old Hamilton parish man sustained injuries to his head, hands and feet. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury that took place at 10:09pm today at the junction of North Shore Road and Jennings Road in Smith's parish. Details at this point are sketchy but it appears that a 35 year old Hamilton parish man was riding a motorcycle traveling east on North Shore Road when he collided with a taxi traveling in the other direction. The Hamilton parish man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is listed in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

Update: Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish - The victim, a 30 year old Paget man, was treated for a gun shot wound to the leg and subsequently released from the hospital on Saturday. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this confirmed firearm incident which occurred around 2:05pm on Saturday, in the area of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys parish.

Around 2:05pm today, Police responded to reports of gun shots being fired in the area of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys parish. Officers arrived at the scene and ascertained that it was indeed a confirmed firearm incident. It appears that one person, a 30 year old Paget man, received a gun shot wound to his leg. His injury is not believed to be life threatening. An active investigation into this incident is underway.

Theft - At 7:50am today, Police attended a reported theft from St. David’s Primary School. The complainant stated that sometime between 3pm on Thursday and 6:30am on Friday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the school grounds and stole 11 goldfish from the school’s fish pond. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the missing goldfish to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.
