Male Motorcyclist Injured in Collision With Car on North Shore Road

Around 1:40am Tuesday, January 7th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Coney Island Road.

It appears that a car was being driven west along North Shore Road and a motorcyclist was traveling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

Public Thanked for Response to Assault Appeal: Suspect Charged in Court

The Bermuda Police Service thanks members of the public who responded to our requests for information regarding the assault on New Year’s Day, of a seventy year-old male outside the Washington Mall on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton.

Thanks to your assistance, a forty year-old male suspect has been arrested, charged and brought before the courts.

Reported Two Vehicle Damage Only Collision on North Shore Road

Around 2:52pm this afternoon, [3-Jan] police were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on North Shore Road near Jennings Road Smith’s parish, involving a truck and a taxi.

There are no reported injuries, however as a result of this collision, the road has been completely blocked.

Traffic headed east is now being diverted over Store Hill with westbound traffic being diverted over Flatt’s Hill.

Two Teen Males Arrested After Being Stopped on Stolen Motorcycle

At 11:45 pm on Tuesday 31-Dec-2019, police officers were on duty when they spotted a motorcycle with two males driving west along Front Street.

Officers observed the rider and his pillion passenger were wearing gloves and masks pulled up on their faces.

Checks revealed the motorcycle was reported as having been taken without the owner’s consent.

7th Road Fatality for 2019

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of Mr. Leslie Center, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a single vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on Watlingon Road in Devonshire, on Thursday December 12th, 2019.

Mr. Center was at the time riding his bike in a westerly direction when he came into contact with the sidewalk at the junction of Upland Street and Watlington Road and went down.

He was transported to King Edward Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Drug Seizure

In a joint Police and Customs initiative on Saturday 21st December 2019, detectives from the Specialist Investigations Drugs Unit & the Bermuda Customs Rummage Team arrested three persons at the private jet facility located at L. F. Wade International Airport.

Earlier that evening two local men entered the island on a private jet with multiple pieces of luggage that were believed to contain controlled drugs.

Those arrested remain in custody pending the outcome of investigations and consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Reported Aggravated Robbery of Hotel Employee at Coco Reef Resort

Around 9:50pm Tuesday, December 17th a reported aggravated robbery occurred at the Coco Reef Resort in Paget.

It appears that a 24 year old male front desk clerk was sitting in the back office when a male intruder entered the area and started to search desk drawers.

A struggle ensued and the intruder made good his escape with the 24 year old man’s smartphone and wallet.

Witness Appeal: Assault at Warwick Post Office Monday Afternoon

Around 4pm Monday, December 16th police officers responded to a reported assault at the Warwick Post Office on Middle Road.

Circumstances of the incident are that prior to police arrival, a 22 year old man – said to be a Warwick resident – walked through the front entrance of the post office.

A short time later three other males walked in, with a fourth male standing at the front door.

Eight Motorists Arrested on Suspicion of Impaired Driving

Eight motorists were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving over the weekend, with road sobriety checkpoints conducted in seven parishes from the evening of Friday, December 13th until the evening of Sunday, December 15th.

Members of the public socialising at staff Christmas parties or festive events with family and friends are reminded to carefully consider their options to get home safely.

45 Year Old Male Motorcyclist in ICU After Being Run Over by Car

Around 7:50am Wednesday, December 11th a reported two vehicle collision occurred on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Seymour Farm Road.

It appears that a 45 year old Sandys parish man riding a motorcycle east on Middle Road slid out into the path of a car being driven in the opposite direction, with the car apparently running over him.
