Sudden Death of Calvin Carmichael

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 55 year old Calvin Carmichael and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

It has now been confirmed that Mr. Carmichael was found unconscious aboard his 24 ft. boat moored in the waters off Lagoon Park dock around 7:40pm Monday, June 26th.

Members of the public assisted police officers in securing the vessel to the dock, where emergency medical personnel commenced lifesaving efforts.

Sudden Death in Sandys Parish [Updated]

Around 7:40pm Monday, June 26th police and first responders were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male in the Lagoon Road, Sandys parish area.

Initial information suggests that an unconscious 55 year old man, believed to be from Southampton, was found adrift aboard a boat in the waters just off Lagoon Road.

Reported Missing Person: Shania Haller [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 20 year old Shania Haller.

Ms. Haller lives in Sandys parish and is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 3 inches tall with long black hair.

She was apparently last seen at the car park in the Boaz Island, Sandys parish area around 10pm Saturday, June 24th wearing a sleeveless puffy black jacket with beige fur around the collar and carrying a motorcycle helmet.

There is concern for the wellbeing of Ms. Haller, who has never gone missing before.

In addition to frequenting Sandys parish, she is known to visit the North Shore Road Flatts (Smith’s parish) area as well as the Bailey’s Bay Hamilton parish area.

Sudden Death of Rohan Simons

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 45 year old Rohan Simons and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Simons was found in an unresponsive state around 11:10am Sunday, June 25th at a property in the Spar Lane, Craddock Road Sandys parish area and later pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor.

As previously stated foul play is not suspected. However, an autopsy is anticipated.

Sudden Death in Sandys Parish [Updated]

Around 11:10am Sunday, June 25th police and first responders were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male at a property in the Spar Lane, Craddock Road Sandys parish area.

The 45 year old man, believed to be from Sandys parish, was later pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor.

No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, until his next of kin have been notified.

Seventh Road Fatality for 2017: Brian Anderson

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 63 year old Brian Anderson and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Anderson, an American visitor said to be from Arizona, was riding a rental cycle with his 11 year old granddaughter as pillion passenger along South Road in Devonshire around 5pm Monday when a collision occurred with a car being driven in the opposite direction near the junction with Brimstone Hill.

Seventh Road Fatality for 2017

Around 5pm today (Monday, June 19th) police and first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Brimstone Hill involving a rental cycle and a car.

Details remain limited.

However, it appears that the rider, believed be a 63 year old man, was traveling with a young female pillion passenger, believed to be a 10 year old girl, when the collision occurred.

JSEOD Partner with UK EOD for Safe Disposal of Unexploded Ordnance

Sea conditions on Friday 16th June prevented the Joint Services Explosives Ordnance Disposal (JSEOD) team, made up of members of the Bermuda Police Service and Royal Bermuda Regiment, from detonating recently located items in the Chaplin Bay area that have been confirmed as military ordnance from World War II.

Working in partnership with UK EOD experts, another attempt will be made Tuesday, 20th June using the safest method of disposal.

Disposal of Unexploded Ordnance Found Off Chaplin Bay

The Joint Services Explosives Ordnance Disposal (JSEOD) team, made up of members of the Bermuda Police Service and Royal Bermuda Regiment, will conduct an operation off Chaplin Bay tomorrow morning, Friday, 16th June, to detonate recently discovered unexploded military ordnance.

The public may hear a loud noise similar to thunder during the process and the beach will be cordoned off by the Royal Bermuda Regiment to prevent public access.
