Criminal Records Office / Vetting Department Moving to New Location

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) wishes to inform the public that, as of Monday 29th October 2018, the Criminal Records Office (CRO) / Vetting Department will be located at the Dame Lois Browne-Evans Building at 58 Court Street, Hamilton (the same location as the BPS Court Liaison Unit). Hours of operation remain the same – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. 

We would also like to remind the public that since 1st September 2018, the BPS no longer accepts monetary payments (cash, cheques etc.) for police reports, clearance certificates / criminal record checks or fingerprinting.

Man Stabbed Multiple Times on Harbour Road in Paget [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of an incident that took place outside a residence on Harbour Road in the area of Valley Road in Paget around 2:53am this morning (Tuesday).

It appears that a 43 year old male was traveling from his place of employment in Dockyard on a motorcycle when he was accosted by two males on a motorcycle as he was traveling home.

Appeal Regarding Four Recent Firearm Incidents

Detective Chief Inspector Arthur Glasford – Over the last four weeks there have been four firearm incidents within a 1.5 mile radius of each other, where unscrupulous gunmen discharged firearms indiscriminately and put the lives of innocent individuals in those environments at risk.

Two Car Collision: North Shore Road, Smith's Parish [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road in Smith's in the area of Police Beach. Details are still emerging but it appears that two cars collided. It does not appear that anyone was injured, however, traffic is being diverted away from the collision while the scene is being processed.

Update: Sunday, October 21st - Details remain limited at this time regarding the two car collision that occurred on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Jennings Road (Police Beach area) around 9:20pm Saturday, October 20th.

Reported Serious Two Vehicle Collision South Road, Warwick [Updated]

Around 10:15pm Friday, October 19th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision at the junction of South Road and Warwick Lane in Warwick involving a car and a motorcycle.

Initial information indicates that the motorcyclist involved was seriously injured.

An update on the injured male rider’s medical condition is anticipated in due course.

Gunshots Reported in Pembroke

Police responded to several 911 calls regarding gun shots being heard in the central Pembroke area (Curving Avenue, Rambling Lane, Middle Town and Happy Valley areas) at 9:40pm.

A firearms incident was declared and police have been actively canvassing the area trying to identify a scene.

At this point it does not appear that anyone has been injured and police are appealing for anyone who might have information on this incident to contact police on 295-0011.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Wright Announces His Retirement Today

Deputy Commissioner of Police Paul Wright today formally announced his intentions of retiring from the Bermuda Police Service after 34 years of service. Mr. Wright came to Bermuda from the UK after serving 6 years with the Humberside Police and has served in a wide variety of policing posts locally such as Community Policing, Criminal Investigations, Special Branch, Intelligence and Serious Crime.

Tenth Road Fatality of 2018: 49 Year Old Marco Bowen

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 49 year old Mr. Marco Bowen and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Bowen was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a water truck as both vehicles attempted to negotiate the round-a-bout at the junction of Barkers Hill and North Shore Road in Devonshire around 5:30pm Monday, October 8th.

Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Barkers Hill Collision [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road in Devonshire right at the Barkers Hill round-a-bout at 5:33pm today (Monday).

Details are still emerging but it appears that a male on a motorcycle collided with a water truck.

The male was conveyed to the hospital via ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.

Single Vehicle Van Crash in Pembroke Causes Power Outage

First responders attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place Spanish Point Road Cove Point Lane in Pembroke at around 9pm tonight (Sunday).

It appears that a male driver of a van collided with a utility pole resulting in a power outage in the area.

No one was injured. BELCO is currently in the area and are in the process of restoring power.
