Pedal Cyclist Sustains Serious Eye Injury [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at approximately 6:39pm tonight (Saturday).

It appears that a cyclist fell off his bicycle on Dunscombe Road, Warwick and as a result, the rider has suffered a serious eye injury and the roads have been blocked off while the scene is being processed.

The Christmas Season is upon us. It is a time for celebration and get-togethers. House parties and office parties are scheduled. With these parties comes alcohol consumption. Bermuda continues to have an average of 1 fatality a month.

Investigation Regarding the Murder of 33 Year Old Paul Johnson

Chief Inspector Arthur Glasford – At 2:59am today (December 10th) the peace and tranquillity of the early morning hours was disturbed as police received several 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Rambling Lane in Pembroke.

Upon police arrival they came upon a male lying on the ground outside of his residence. Police commenced CPR and other lifesaving measures and he was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where time of death was certified at 3:33am.

Shooting On Rambling Lane [Updated]

Police and other first responders attended a report of a firearms incident that took place outside of a residence on Rambling Lane in Pembroke at 3 am this morning (Monday). Details are still emerging, but it appears that a 33 year old male was shot outside of his residence and taken to the hospital via ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

No further information on the deceased will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

When I received the call last evening alerting me on the passing of our late Commissioner, I immediately began to reflect on all of the powerful sentiments that were expressed to me in the short time I have been on the island about the character of Mr. Bean by serving and former officers.

4th Annual 'B' Watch Central Give a Child a Christmas

This afternoon (Thursday 6th December), ‘B’ Watch Central helped to make Christmas extra special for two primary school students.

This is the 4th year of the community initiative they call “Give a Child a Christmas.” Each year the Watch selects a school from the central parishes and asks the school guidance counselor to identify two students, one male and one female, whose families may need a helping hand during the Christmas holiday.

Two Firearms Incidents: St. Mary's Road & Happy Valley Road [Updated]

The Bermuda Police Service responded to two firearm incidents tonight.

The first incident took place on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick at 7:46pm when two men on a motorcycle shot at a residence in the area. No one was injured and the suspects left the scene.

The second incident took place at 8:05pm on Happy Valley Road where two males on a motorcycle opened fire on a male who was walking in the area.

Motorcyclist Injured in Hamilton Parish Crash [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish at 6:50pm.

It appears that a male was traveling on that said road when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a wall.

The man was taken via ambulance to the hospital where he is presently being treated for injuries that are believed to be serious.

Elderly Female Pedestrian Struck By Car on Dundonald Street [Updated]

Please be advised, an 86 year old pedestrian was knocked down outside of Masters in the City of Hamilton. Traffic has been diverted from the area whilst the scene is being processed. Condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time.

Update: The 86 year old lady was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Dundonald Street is now re-opened to traffic.
