The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 61 year old Melvin Anthony Symons and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Symons was found in an unresponsive state around 5:20am Sunday, September 16th in the Controversy Lane, Pembroke area and subsequently pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor.
The Bermuda Police Service can confirm the death of 20 year old Mazhye Burchall who died as a result of a road traffic collision that took place at 3:55am on Saturday morning on South Road in Paget, 100 yards west of the Trimingham Hill roundabout.
Mazhye was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance but was later pronounced dead.
Police and other first responders attended a report of a serious road traffic collision that took place on South Road in Paget, just 100 meters west of the South Roundabout at 3:55am Saturday morning.
Details are still unfolding but it appears that the male rider of a motorcycle was traveling on South Road in Paget when it appears that he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a wall in the area of the Railway Trail.
A 38 year old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal road collision that claimed the life of 18 year old Jen-Naya Simmons on 15th July, 2018.
He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Martin Weekes – The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) advises that due to an administrative error by the BPS, regarding the publication of the road sobriety checkpoint notice, the road sobriety checkpoints specified in that notice will not be conducted this weekend.
The public will note that an Official Gazette Notice was featured yesterday (September 10th) and today (September 11th) advising that road sobriety checkpoints would be conducted in Paget and Devonshire on September 14th, 15th, and 16th. However due to this error in the Notice these checkpoints will not take place.
Around 9:10pm Sunday, September 9th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Commonland Point Road.
It appears that a motorcyclist traveling east collided with two cars being driven in the opposite direction as well as a wall.
The rider, said to be a 40 year old man, is believed to have sustained serious injuries and was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 38 year old Jamil Simmons.
Mr. Simmons – who was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts just past the knee and black shoes – is described as dark complexioned, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall of medium build, weighing about 210 pounds with short cut black hair.
He was apparently last seen in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning (September 5th) in the Fort Hill Road, Middle Road Devonshire area.

Sadly, the Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the identity of the fatal stabbing victim as 25 year old Danshun Swann.
At 12:10am today (Monday, 27th August) several 911 calls were received regarding a large fight involving a group of males outside Southampton Rangers Sports Club.

I’m pleased to report to you that in the past 24 hours six persons have been arrested and are now in the custody of the Bermuda Police Service.
We believe that they are involved in the robberies that I touched upon yesterday, particularly the one at Somerset Bridge and also the one at Frog Lane.
Around 12:10am today (August 21st) police officers and ambulance personnel responded to a residence in the Tribe Road #7 Warwick area, following a reported assault at a nearby Lemarc Estate, Warwick home.
A 29 year old woman received injuries to her head and arm in the incident – apparently caused by a bladed article – but remained conscious and alert.
She was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of her wounds and later discharged.
