Breaking & Entering

Wed, 2005-03-23

Around 10:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at Somerset Primary School on Gilbert Lane in Sandy’s parish. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 6pm and 10:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the principal’s office. The culprit stole an unknown amount of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Search for the Cooper Twins

Police are continuing the search for missing twins Jahmal and Jahmil Cooper who were last seen in the early hours of Sunday March 13, 2005 at a residence on Crown Hill Lane in Devonshire. 25 officers will continue the systematic search to locate the missing men.

Assault

Around 8:25pm on Friday, March 18, Police attended a reported assault on Court Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers saw the victim, a 55 year old Pembroke man, with his face covered in blood. The officers approached the man and attempted to tend to his injuries; however he refused any assistance.

Breaking & Entering

Mon, 2005-03-21

At 10:25am on Monday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at Staples on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 5pm on Friday and 8am on Monday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the building. The culprit stole $333 in cash from an office. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

At 1:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported robbery at the International Sports Shop on Bermudiana Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 20 year old Pembroke woman (salesperson), who stated that at 12:35pm that day a man entered the store, greeted her and went behind the cash register.

COMMISSIONER’S PRESS COMMENTS REGARDING THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE ASSAULT AND DISAPPEARANCE OF JAHMAL AND JAHMIL COOPER

THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE REPORTED ASSAULT OF JAHMIL AND JAHMAL COOPER CONTINUES. A TEAM OF 24 DETECTIVES UNDER THE COMMAND OF ACTING SUPT. ANDREW BOYCE IS WORKING ON THIS INVESTIGATION. THE TEAM IS BEING ASSISTED BY MEMBERS OF THE MARINE UNIT AND AS OF TODAY, APPROXIMATELY 25 ADDITIONAL OFFICERS WILL BE DRAWN INTO THE INVESTIGATION TO ASSIST IN THE SEARCH FOR JAHMAL AND JAHMIL COOPER.

Fatal RTC

Around 10:15pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Harbour Road in Warwick, near the junction with Keith Hall Road involving an auxiliary cycle. On arrival officers found an unresponsive female victim lying in the road. EMTs arrived on the scene a short time later and attended to the victim before rushing her to KEMH via ambulance.

Theft

Thu, 2005-03-17

Around 10:25am on Thursday, Police attended a reported theft at Cecile’s on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with employees of the store who stated that earlier a man entered Cecile’s and removed approximately $300 in cash from the cash register. The suspect then made good his escape.

Update: Investigation into Missing Cooper Twins

Thu, 2005-03-17

The investigation into the disappearance of Jahmal & Jahmil Cooper continues and now includes arson at the crime scene in Crown Hill, Devonshire. Police believe persons unknown were attempting to obstruct the investigation into the assault and subsequent disappearance of the twins by torching the building.
