The vehicles listed below are presently in the Police Impound at Prospect, Devonshire. The owners of these vehicles may claim them by contacting the Police Impound Office, Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at telephone number 247-1788.

Hampshire Constabulary Bermuda Special Constables Sworn In

Today, Wednesday January 22nd, officers from Hampshire Constabulary became Special Constables for the Bermuda Police Service, enabling them to effectively investigate serious crimes onboard Bermuda registered vessels in Hampshire ports.

A total of 16 staff from the Hampshire Major Investigation Team – 14 detectives and two police staff investigators – were formally sworn in as Special Constables by Commissioner of the Bermuda Police Service Michael DeSilva, at a ceremony also attended by Hampshire Chief Constable Andy Marsh and Hampshire Police & Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes.

Police Seeking John O’Connor [Arrested]

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 26 year old John O’Connor who is known to frequent the Eastern and Central Parishes. He is described as a light complexioned male, thin build, approximately 5’8" tall and between 145-160 pounds. O’Connor is wanted by police for an outstanding matter and anyone who knows his whereabouts is encouraged to contact DC Jason Trott on 717-2261.

Update: The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 26 year old John O'Connor. He has since been arrested.

Teenager Arrested After High Speed Chase in Paget

A few minutes after 2pm today several Police Motorcycle Units were involved in a high speed chase from Rural Hill, South Road and it ended on St. Michael's Road in Paget. The rider, a 16 year old male attempted to push a police motorcyclist off his motorcycle, he then failed to stop and eventually dropped his cycle and attempted to flee on foot.

Due to the combination of assistance provided by St. Michael’s Road area residents, a police K9 and additional police units called in to the area the suspect was apprehended and detained.

Single Vehicle Motorcycle Collision in Hamilton Parish

First responders attended a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Tuesday evening at 8:40pm on North Shore Road 300 meters east of the Aquarium.

It appears that a 39 year old St George's man was traveling on that said road when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a wall. The man was taken to the hospital where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Traffic Collision Investigators were called out and this caused that stretch of road to be blocked off as traffic was diverted to alternative routes.

Ten Year Old Pedal Cyclist Dies in Collision [Updated]

Around 6:15pm on Saturday, January 11th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious collision in the Camp Hill Southampton area, near Tribe Road Number 1.

It appears that a ten year old girl riding a pedal cycle collided with a pole. She was seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where she later succumbed to her injuries. No further information will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

First Road Traffic Fatality of 2014 Nikko Robinson-Woodley

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 21 year old Nikko Robinson-Woodley of Friswells Hill Road, who died as a result of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road just east of Paynters Road in Hamilton Parish.

It appears that around 12:55am on Saturday, a car was traveling on Harrington Sound Road when the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree. Nikko was taken to the hospital via ambulance where he later was pronounced dead at 2:08am.

Sudden Death of Steve Cummings

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 66 year old American Steve Cummings and extends condolences to his family & friends.

Around 12:30am on Wednesday, December 11th police and Bermuda Radio received a report that the Florida resident’s vessel required assistance in the waters off the North Shore in the area of Black Watch Pass.

The police Marine Unit responded and conducted an overnight search of that maritime area for the vessel; however tragically a debris field was subsequently established.

Inter-Services Make Gift of $20,480 To Why It Matters

Inter-Services Press Release - Today the Bermuda Police Service in partnership with The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, The Bermuda Regiment and the Department of Corrections presented the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust with a cheque for $20,480.00 to benefit the “Why it Matters” campaign.

This announcement is made following the Inter-Service Golf Tournament held on Friday, October 25th, 2013, which had the charitable aim of supporting the redevelopment of the hospital.
