Update: Marsh Lane, Devonshire Incident

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that the item recovered last night following a brief police pursuit in the Marsh Lane, Devonshire area was actually an imitation firearm.

Officers immediately conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area for the male suspect. However he was not located – but the motorcycle involved has been impounded.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses, residents or motorists that saw any suspicious activity in the Middle Road, Marsh Lane Devonshire area approximately 9:45pm Thursday, April 19th are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 at the earliest opportunity.

Traffic Advisory: Botanical Gardens, South Road Devonshire

The motoring public is advised to use caution and expect delays along the section of South Road in Devonshire in the vicinity of the Botanical Gardens due to residents attending the Agricultural Show today (Friday, April 20th) and tomorrow (Saturday, April 21st).

Police officers are assisting with traffic management in the area and will continue those duties on Saturday.

However, it is recommended that motorists who are not intending to go to the Agricultural Show take alternate routes to get to their destinations until after the conclusion of each day’s events.

Male Rider Recovering After Spanish Point Park Crash

At last check this morning (April 20h) the 32 year old Smith’s parish man hurt in a single vehicle 50cc scooter crash in Spanish Point Park around 8pm Wednesday, April 18th was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
