Canadian Man Appears in Magistrates' Court on Fraud Related Charges

Canadian National, Christopher Gosselin McMeel, appeared in Magistrates' Court this morning faced with eight (8) fraud related charges.

Mr. McMeel was charged with one count of possession of equipment used in making false credit cards, as well as seven counts of possession of false credit cards.

These seven counts pertained to seven of the 31 cards, which had inconsistent data on the magnetic strip.

Reported Missing Teen: 14 Year Old Destiny Winters [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 14 year old Destiny Winters.

The teen was last seen in the Middle Road, Smith’s parish area around 6:30pm Monday, November 18th wearing a grey long sleeved hooded top, black short tights and Nike slippers.

She is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall of medium build, with shoulder length curly hair and is known to frequent the Fentons Drive, Parsons Road, St. Augustine Hill, Middle Town and One Way Deepdale areas of Pembroke.

There is concern for Destiny’s wellbeing and so far efforts by police officers to locate her have been unsuccessful.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 14 year old Destiny Winters is encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Update: The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 14 year old Destiny Winters.

She was found safe and well this afternoon (Tuesday, November 19th) at the City of Hamilton bus terminal.

Four Officers Promoted: Two to Sergeant & Two to Inspector

The Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley is pleased to announce the promotions of Sergeant Alex Rollin and Sergeant Derek Berry to the rank of Inspector and the promotions of Constable Krishna Singh and Constable Mark Monk to the rank of Sergeant.

All four were promoted by Commissioner Corbishley in front of the Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Caines, family, friends and colleagues at a ceremony held in the Police Recreation Club hall, Prospect Devonshire 4:30pm today (November 18th).

15 year old CedarBridge Academy Student Dakahri Bailey's Honesty Saluted

On Saturday evening, 26th October 2019, Acting Sergeant Melvin Best (Community Policing Division) was performing extra duty at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick when grocery packer Dakahri Bailey handed over a brown leather wallet which he found in the car park. Acting Sergeant Best contacted the rightful owner who came back to the grocery store a short time later to collect the wallet from the officer. Dakahri’s mother was also informed of her son’s good deed.

Two Males Injured in Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash [Updated]

Around 1:15am Wednesday, November 13th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Morgan Hill.

It appears that a 17 year old male rider and 26 year old male passenger were traveling west along Somerset Road when the motorcycle they were on struck a wall at the bottom of Scaur Hill.

Motorcyclist Hurt After Collision With Car in Warwick [Updated]

At around 8:59 p.m. Tuesday 12th November 2019, police and first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick.

Reports are that the car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver made a right turn onto Khyber Pass and was struck by a motorcycle ridden by an eighteen year old male who was attempting to overtake another vehicle headed west on Middle Road.

Man Charged in Court With Assaulting Off Duty Constable Stephen Cosham

28 year old Jaron Roberts appeared in Magistrates’ Court today, charged with assaulting off duty Constable Stephen Cosham, the National Disaster Coordinator.

Following the incident which occurred at Clearwater Beach car park on the afternoon of Monday 4th November, 2019, officers launched a search for the suspects and quickly identified Roberts as one of the perpetrators.

Man Arrested, Live Ammunition & Suspected Drugs Seized in Southampton

On Friday 1st November, 2019, police officers executed a search warrant at a Southampton residence, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of illegal items.

These included twenty rounds of live ammunition as well as suspected diamorphine, suspected cannabis and cannabis resin.

The quantity of suspected illegal drugs seized would suggest they were meant for supply.

Witness Appeal: Individuals Involved in Clearwater Beach Incident [Updated]

Dog Stolen in Warwick Burglary Friday: Help Return ‘Yoyo’ Home [Found]

Detectives are currently conducting inquiries into a reported burglary that occurred at a South Road, Warwick residence around 3:15pm Friday, November 1st.

A remote control car and a tan coloured male Yorkshire Terrier dog named ‘Yoyo’ were stolen by the intruders.

Members of the public with any information regarding this burglary – and in particular, the whereabouts of ‘Yoyo’, the tan coloured male Yorkshire Terrier dog – are encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744 as soon as possible.

Update: We are happy to confirm that ‘Yoyo’ was found earlier this afternoon in the parking lot of Gulfstream Restaurant on South Road in Southampton, near the entrance to Horseshoe Bay and has been reunited with his family.

However, Friday’s burglary remains under investigation and anyone with any relevant information is still encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744 as soon as possible.
