At 4:00pm on Tuesday 14th January, officers on the current Recruit Foundation Course performing their street duties training with a Tutor Constable, were dispatched to a residence in Devonshire to perform a welfare check on a male.

Around 4:15pm Monday, January 13th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a reported serious collision on Somerset Road in Sandys parish.

However, it appears that a fire truck, a taxi and a motorcyclist were involved and the rider has been seriously injured.
Around 11:25pm Sunday, January 12th a reported serious collision occurred on North Shore Road in Devonshire in the vicinity of the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club.
Details remain limited at this time. However, it appears that two vehicles were involved, a 50cc rental scooter and a motorcycle.
On Friday 10th January, 2020, Bermuda Customs officers detained two U.S. nationals at LF Wade International Airport on suspicion of trafficking controlled drugs.
The male & female couple were subsequently arrested by detectives from the BPS Specialist Investigations Drugs Unit, with multiple heat sealed packages discovered in their luggage.
Once again the Bermuda Police Service Financial Crime Unit would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant regarding scams that attempt to obtain personal information or other sensitive data.
In particular, local residents should be wary of a lottery scam letter currently in circulation that appears to originate from Madrid, Spain.
The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 75 year old Donald Place.
Mr. Place is described as dark complexioned, 5 feet 5 inches tall with grey hair but partially bald.
He also walks with a cane and is believed to be wearing dark green pants, a black jacket and black dress shoes with a black wool hat.
He usually travels on foot and was last seen at his Middle Road, Southampton home around 3pm Sunday, January 12th.
So far, efforts by police officers to locate the 75 year old Southampton resident have been unsuccessful.
There is concern for the wellbeing of Mr. Place and anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call police on 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.

Mr. Place returned home safe and well around 8:15pm Sunday, January 12th.
Detective Inspector Derek Berry (Criminal Investigation Department) – At around 8:30pm on Wednesday 8th January, police officers responded to a call at the junction of West Side Road and Church Valley Lane in Sandys, of an attack on a 40-year-old male from Sandys Parish.
Police were told the victim was assaulted and robbed by two other males – one armed with a machete and one with a knife.
Acting Detective Inspector Jason Smith - The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is currently investigating a series of firearms incidents that have caused concern
to investigators and the public ought to be concerned as well. Since September 14th 2019, the police have investigated three firearms incidents that occurred on Court Street, Pembroke, on September 14th 2019, October 22, 2019 and December 22, 2019.
In these firearms incidents, a firearm was either discharged or brandished threatening persons that were in the area.
Detectives are currently conducting inquiries regarding a reported armed robbery.
Early information suggests that the incident occurred around 8:40pm Wednesday. January 8th on Church Valley Lane in Sandys parish - where it is believed that two unknown men each brandishing a bladed article assaulted and robbed a 40 year old Sandys parish man, injuring him.
