Second Road Fatality for 2021: 35-Year-Old O’Dean Phillips

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 35-year-old O’Dean Phillips.
Mr. Phillips passed away following a serious single road traffic collision involving a motorcycle, just east of the Terceira’s Service Station on the North Shore Road, Devonshire, shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Monday 11th January, 2021.
The Bermuda Police Service extends sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Phillips.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. today, Monday 11th January, 2021, police responded to a report of a serious single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle, just west of Terceira’s Service Station on the North Shore Road, Devonshire.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male with a severe leg injury lying on the roadway. The officers immediately commenced C.P.R. on the victim, a thirty-five-year-old Smith’s Parish resident, until the arrival of EMTs a short time after.
He was subsequently transported via ambulance, to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation Underway Into Reported Indecent Exposure Incident

The Bermuda Police Service is investigating a report of indecent exposure which reportedly took place today, Thursday 7th January, 2021, in the area of Cavendish Road, Pembroke.
A female informed police that as she ran along Cavendish Road near Lane Hill, shortly after 6:00 a.m. today, she observed a light skinned male, wearing a fluorescent jacket standing underneath a light pole near Lane Hill. As she approached the male reportedly exposed himself to her.
First Road Fatality for 2021: 28-Year-Old Oronde Wilson Jr.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 28-year-old Oronde Wilson Jr.
Mr. Wilson was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road, in the vicinity of Jews Bay, around 8:55am Monday, January 4th.
Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service as well as ambulance personnel responded to the scene.
Two Burglary Suspects Arrested

Shortly before 10:45 a.m. today, Monday 4th January, 2021, police received a 911 call, reporting a burglary in progress at a Train Track Lane, Paget, residence.
The caller stated one of the suspects, who was confronted by an occupant of that residence, was armed with a knife.
However, there were no reported injuries.

At 8:55am on Monday, 4th January 2021 police attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcycle which occurred on Middle Road, Southampton near Jews Bay.
On arrival an unconscious 28-year-old male was found lying in the road. CPR was commenced and the male rider was conveyed by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where regrettably he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation Into Social Event That Breached COVID-19 Regulations

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has received reports of a social event attended by a significant number of individuals and which is said to have taken place at a location in Pembroke Parish last evening. Attendees were also reportedly not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing.
These are all offences under the current COVID-19 regulations.
New Year’s Holiday Policing

With the Christmas holiday weekend marred by the shooting of a man on Court Street, in which, thankfully, there was no loss of life or serious injury, the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is now shifting focus to the upcoming New Year’s holiday weekend, planning police operations to Make Bermuda Safer.
To that end Martin Weekes, Assistant Commissioner of Police, advised the public of some of the policing measures being implemented over the next few days, as we enter into 2021.

Dear Community,
Well, it’s Christmas! Even though it’s been a year the likes of which we would all agree hasn’t been seen before, nor would we want to experience again.
However, it is the time of year when I hope all of us can spend some time with family, friends and loved ones, to enjoy some merriment and festive cheer.
I do recognise however that some of us may find this season difficult for any number of reasons. Many partner organisations, including the Bermuda Police Service (BPS), are there to help, so if anyone does feel vulnerable they can pick up the phone to speak with someone who cares and can help.
Driver Rescued After Her Car Goes Overboard at Night

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday 22nd December, 2020, police received a report from on-duty Coast Guard personnel that a motorcar had crashed through the wooden barriers across from the West End Sailboat Club and landed in the sea.
Upon arrival, three officers entered the water and moved to extract the driver, a twenty-eight-year old female from the vehicle.
