Good Morning. We do not normally comment on the security arrangements for the Premier of Bermuda, however, it is my regrettable task this morning to do so. In this season of rumours and speculation it is important for the public to be aware of a security matter concerning the Premier. Yesterday postal workers intercepted a package addressed to the Premier which caused some suspicion. Upon further examination it was confirmed that the package contained a threat leveled at the Premier. The Police have sufficient grounds to take the threat seriously and that a criminal offence has been committed. A Police investigation has been launched.

Around 8:10 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish, near the junction with Morgan Hill. It appears that a tractor trailer was traveling west on Somerset Road with a motorcycle traveling behind it when an unknown large vehicle traveling east collided with the westbound tractor trailer. As a result, debris flew back into the rider of the cycle, a 43 year old Sandy’s parish woman. She sustained facial injuries (cut to her right cheek).
