Free Meals Provided at 4th Annual Southside Community Dinner

On Sunday, January 8th Eastern Community Action Team officers in conjunction with the St. George’s Parish Council and Kenny’s Kitchen held the 4th annual post-Christmas / New Year’s dinner at the Open Door Christian Assembly Church hall, Southside, St. David’s from 4pm until 6pm.

The event provided hot meals, including a dessert option, to members of the St. George’s and St. David’s communities that were able to attend the church hall - as well as a meal delivery service for those that could not.

Court: Two Canadian Visitors Charged With Fentanyl Importation

The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that two Canadian nationals, 25 year old Jacqueline Robinson and 35 year old Craig Lawrence, were initially involved in a medical emergency at the Hamilton Princess hotel on 20th December 2016.

Both were treated in hospital and subsequently arrested on suspicion of importing Fentanyl into the island.

Upcoming Bermuda Reserve Police Information Session

Reported Serious Two Vehicle Collision in Smith's Parish [Updated]

Around 3:45pm today, Friday December 30th, police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two vehicle collision ‎on North Shore Road in Smith's parish near the junction with Store Hill.

Details remain limited at this time.

However, it appears that a car and a motorcycle were involved.

Advisory: Counterfeit U.S. $100 Notes Circulating

The Bermuda Police Service is advising businesses and their staff as well as residents to be vigilant regarding counterfeit U.S. $100 notes currently in circulation.

The forged U.S. $100 bills have the same serial number: H1413713.

Employees are once again advised that if counterfeit cash is detected during a transaction, the member of staff receiving the fake money should hold on to it, note the description of the individual who tendered it and contact police immediately.

Fentanyl Found in Bermuda

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) wishes to advise the public that we have confirmed the presence of the controlled drug Fentanyl in Bermuda.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is associated with the misuse of heroin.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), “Fentanyl is a dangerous, powerful Schedule II narcotic responsible for an epidemic of overdose deaths within the United States.”

Unfortunately, we have experienced an increase in burglaries.

Last year we had 603 burglaries and so far this year we’ve had 733 burglaries, representing an increase of about 20 percent.
