Assault

At 11:25pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported assault at the Southampton Rangers Club on South Road in Southampton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 38 year old Southampton man, who stated that earlier while at the club he saw a young man take a chair from inside the establishment and put it outside to sit on. The Southampton man told the suspect the chair belongs inside the club not outside, and an argument took place. As the victim picked up the chair to put it back inside, the suspect struck him in the back of the head with a bottle, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect then made good his escape. The 38 year old Southampton man sustained a laceration to the back of the head and swelling to the face. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries and later released. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, 6'2" tall of slim build. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Breaking & Entering

At 10 this morning, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at Barberella's Unisex Barber Shop on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7pm on Saturday and 9:35am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the store. The culprit stole approximately $600 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 11:40pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a North Shore Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with one of the complainants who stated that around 11:30pm he was inside the house when he heard a noise and went to investigate. When he checked his housemate's bedroom, he saw an unknown man going through the sleeping man's belongings. He shouted at the suspect, awaking his housemate and a brief struggle ensued between the three men. However, the suspect managed to make good his escape on foot with a black leather wallet containing $150 in cash and personal items. The complainants were not injured in the struggle. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
