Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 36 year old Alec Wright of Hamilton parish following a fatal road traffic collision on Kindley Field Road in St. George's involving a bus and a rental cycle around 12:15 this morning. It appears that the bus was traveling east on Kindley Field Road and the rental cycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the rider of the rental cycle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with the bus. The Hamilton parish man sustained serious head injuries as a result. He was tended to at the scene by an off duty Police officer (who was also traveling east on Kindley Field Road at the time of the collision) and a passenger from the bus. A short time later paramedics arrived on scene and continued first aid. Mr. Wright was then rushed to KEMH via ambulance where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead around 1:20am by an on call physician. Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact PC Joseph on 295-0011. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.
