Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 53 year old Antonio Armando Correia of Smith's parish, who became the island's 12th road traffic fatality. It appears that on Friday, October 14, 2005 Mr. Correia was riding an orange motorcycle which was involved in a road traffic collision with an unknown vehicle (believed to be a car) sometime between 5:45pm and 7pm on South Road in Smith's parish, somewhere in the area of McGall's Hill or Spittal Pond. Apparently there was no damage to either vehicle as a result of the collision. The 53 year old Smith's parish man attended KEMH around 7:10pm, was treated for bruising to his right leg and subsequently released as his injuries were not believed to be life threatening. Sometime on Saturday, October 15, 2005 an ambulance transported Mr. Correia from his Smith's parish residence back to the hospital, after he complained of severe pain to his right hip and difficulty breathing. Following medical examinations at KEMH, the Smith's parish man was found to have internal injuries. Mr. Correia ultimately succumbed to his injuries on the morning of Monday, October 17, 2005. Apparently this road traffic collision was not reported to Police. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact PC Barker on 295-0011. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

Breaking & Entering

At 8pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Barry Road, St. George's residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:30am and 6:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole $250 in cash and several items of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
