Around 9:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Rose Hill Road in Southampton involving two cars. Details about the collision remain unclear; however the driver of the car, a 50 year old Sandy's parish man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of minor injuries and released. The Sandy's parish man was then taken to Hamilton Police Station where he passed the alco-analyser test, but was detained due to outstanding warrants. The driver of the other car, a 30 year old Smith's parish man, and his two female passengers were also treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 6pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported damage only single vehicle road traffic collision near the junction with Cedar Avenue and Angel Street in Pembroke. It appears that a car was leaving the Leopards Club parking lot traveling south when the driver lost control, crossed Beacon Street and collided with Beacon House. As a result, the car received extensive front end damage and the building also received heavy damage. Police subsequently arrested the driver of the car, a 75 year old Devonshire man, on suspicion of impaired driving. The Devonshire man was taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained after refusing to take the alco-analyser test; however, he was subsequently bailed. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
