Injury RTC

Around 8:55pm on Friday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Aldie Drive, involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Middle Road when the rider, a 51 year old Pembroke woman, lost control and crossed over into the westbound lane, colliding with a car traveling west. The Pembroke woman was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of head injuries and a broken right arm. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the car, a 73 year old Hamilton parish man, was not injured. The car received front end damage and the cycle received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact PC Ainsworth Grant on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 1:35pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported burglary at a St. John’s Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 9pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while she was away from the premises. The culprit stole several items of gold jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
