At 2:50pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury involving a truck and a pedestrian on Parsons Road in Pembroke near the junction with Deepdale Road West. It appears that the truck was traveling west on Parsons Road approaching a stationary car in the same lane with a child standing nearby. Apparently the truck slowed down as the car drove off, and the child ran into the path of the truck. The victim, a 5 year old Pembroke boy, was taken to KEMH via ambulance where he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition with a fractured skull. The truck involved was impounded. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Disturbance

Around 5:50pm on Monday, Police attended a reported disturbance at the St. George's Cricket Club on Wellington Slip Road in St. George's. On arrival officers spoke to the victim, a 26 year old St. George's man, in one of the club's changing rooms. The victim, who was with family members at the time, declined any Police involvement despite sustaining facial injuries. Approximately an hour later, Police returned to the St. George's Cricket Club after a reported disturbance involving the victim of the first incident. The 26 year old St. George's man was then arrested for conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and taken to the Hamilton Police Station. He was later cautioned released.

Weekend Activity

The combination of public co-operation and the strategic deployment of officers across the island resulted in a relatively quiet period with no major incidents reported.
