Fatal RTC

Around 9:45pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Tribe Road #3, involving a van and a motorcycle. It appears that the van was traveling west with the motorcycle also traveling in the same direction behind the van. The rider of the motorcycle, a 20 year old Sandy's parish man then attempted to overtake the van, clipped the rear of the vehicle and collided with a wall on the opposite side of the road. The Sandy's parish man was rushed to KEMH via ambulance in an unresponsive state and was subsequently pronounced dead at 10:30pm by an on call physician. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified. The driver of the van, a 20 year old Sandy's parish woman, was not injured; however, she was taken to the hospital reportedly suffering from shock. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Broomes on 234-1010 or PC Evelyn on 299-4265 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

This marks the 3rd road traffic fatality for 2006.

Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 81 year old George Webb of Warwick. He was pronounced dead at 7pm on Monday by an on call physician at KEMH. An autopsy has been completed and the results determined that Mr. Webb died of natural causes. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Breaking & Entering

Around 11:35am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Keith Hall Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime between 10pm on Tuesday and 8am on Wednesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home. The culprit stole $100 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
