Impaired Driving

At 10 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road in Smith's parish near the junction with Clarendon Road. It appears that a blue Subaru car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver lost control and collided with a utility pole. The driver, a 31 year old Devonshire man, left the area after the collision and was found by officers outside the Whitney Institute Middle School. He refused medical attention for himself or his infant daughter (who was also in the car) from paramedics at the scene, stating they were not injured. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test.

Fire

Around 3:15pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported fire at a Church Street, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers found Bermuda Fire Service personnel already on the scene dealing with the fire. All occupants managed to escape the apartment without injury. Church Street was cordoned off while the fire was being extinguished. Inquiries into the cause of the fire are underway; however, there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Missing Juvenile

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public's assistance in locating 15 year old Lotorean Durrant. He was reported missing on Saturday morning and was last seen at his Southampton home at 8am on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Durrant is described as light skinned, 5'5" tall weighing 90 lbs. of slim build, with greenish grey eyes and a scar above his left eyebrow. He is known to frequent the areas of South Road in Southampton and White Hill in Sandy's parish. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 15 year old Lotorean Durrant is asked to contact the Juvenile & Domestic Crime Unit on 299-4477 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 3:45pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Cobbs Hill Road and the Railway Trail in Warwick, involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears the car was traveling south on Cobbs Hill Road with the motorcycle also traveling south behind the car. As the car made a right turn on to the Railway Trail, the motorcycle attempted to overtake and the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 76 year old Warwick man, was not injured; however the rider and passenger of the motorcycle, a 30 year old Warwick man and a 31 year old St. George's woman, were taken to KEMH for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
