Damage Only RTC in Southampton - Around 7:45am on Monday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on South Road in Southampton in the vicinity of the Fairmont Southampton Resort. It appears that a SUV was traveling along South Road when the vehicle went over an embankment. The driver of the vehicle, a 39 year old Sandys parish woman and her passengers, a 9 year old girl and a 4 year old boy, were not injured. The extent of damage to the vehicle is unknown at this time. The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend those members of the public who came to the assistance of the family involved in this collision, helping the mother and her children out of the vehicle and to safety. Inquiries are underway.

Injury RTC Involving Police Car

Around 6:35am on Sunday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Kindley Field Road in St. George’s involving a taxi and a police vehicle. It appears that the taxi and the police car were both traveling along Kindley Field Road when they collided. The taxi driver, a 78 year old Warwick man and the police officer were both injured, receiving treatment at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further medical assessment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious. Both vehicles were damaged as a result. Inquiries are underway.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Police officers also arrested 22 people for outstanding warrants and conducted 14 liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
