Witness Appeal: Serious Injury RTC - Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a serious three vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 5:45pm Monday, March 14th 2011 at the junction of North Shore Road and Stonehaven Road in Hamilton parish. The auxiliary cycle rider, a 17 year old young man from St. George’s, sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit before being flown overseas for further medical care. The motorcycle rider, a 32 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained a hand injury while the car driver, a 28 year old Hamilton parish woman, was not injured. The investigation into this collision is ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Romeo Allen on 295-0011.

Road Safety Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Burglary Advisory

There were several reported burglaries between 7am Monday, March 14th and 7am Tuesday, March 15th 2011. Overall a quantity of cash, alcohol, food and personal items was taken. A 42 year old man was arrested in connection with one of the burglaries; nothing was reported taken in that incident.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries by making sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles, activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
