Burglary Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service is noticing a series of burglaries recently where electronic items like flat screen TVs and video game systems are being taken. We would like to remind the public to document their valuable possessions by recording serial numbers as well as U-Marking and taking pictures of the items. This information can be used to identify and assist in recovering the items if they are lost or stolen and should be kept separately in a secure location. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities, individuals or vehicles in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.

Verify Unsolicited Phone Calls

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of residents receiving phone calls regarding an alleged sustainable energy survey. Apparently the caller claims that they need to come to the individual’s home to look at the property and give advice. We continue to recommend that members of the public receiving these phone calls or similar phone calls ask for the caller’s name, phone number and credentials to verify if the call is genuine.

If an unsolicited individual does attend your property, ask for official identification and verify with the appropriate company. If at any time you are unsure about the person’s intentions, do not let them in your home.
