Three Men Arrested For Robbery After Swift Action By Police - At 12 noon on Wednesday, March 2nd 2011 Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the victim, a 20 year old Sandys parish man, was accosted by five young men between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, February 28th 2011 in the area of Camp Hill and the Railway Trail in Southampton. The assailants took a quantity of cash and a motorcycle helmet from the Sandys parish man before fleeing the scene. The victim and the assailants apparently know each other. Three of the suspects, a 16 year old young man from Southampton, a 17 year old young man from Warwick and a 25 year old Paget man have been arrested in connection with the incident. Inquiries are ongoing.

Fuel Spill

Around 5pm on Wednesday, Police responded to a reported fuel spill in the vicinity of L. F. Wade International Airport in St. George’s. On arrival Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel were already on scene dealing with the incident by containing the spill and then cleaning it up. Police officers assisted by diverting pedestrians & vehicular traffic away from Cahow Way (road leading into the airport) until the cleanup was completed. At 5:45pm that day the area was re-opened to both pedestrians & vehicular traffic.

Injury RTC

Around 2:20pm on Thursday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with Burnaby Street, involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. Details about the collision are unclear at this time; however the auxiliary cycle rider, a 29 year old Pembroke woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Her injuries are not considered life threatening. Both vehicles were damaged. As a result there was a temporary traffic delay in the area. Inquiries are underway.
