Injury RTC - Around 10:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Cox’s Hill Road in Pembroke near the junction with St. John’s Road. It appears that a car was traveling along St. John’s Road when the driver, a 28 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a utility pole. The driver sustained a leg injury. His two passengers, a 19 year old Pembroke man and an 11 year old Pembroke boy sustained relatively minor injuries. The car was extensively damaged. The utility pole was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Che Young on 295-0011.

Around 12 noon on Saturday, Police attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after receiving a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury involving a car and a pedestrian. It appears that the car was traveling along South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Devil’s Hole Hill when a collision occurred with the pedestrian, a 42 year old Sandys parish woman. She was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be serious. The driver of the car was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Bianca Joinville on 295-0011.

Vehicle Fire

Around 11:40am on Saturday, Police attended a reported vehicle fire on Scott’s Hill Road in Sandys parish near the junction with the Railway Trail. As a result the immediate area was cordoned off as a safety precaution. The car was extensively damaged by the blaze which was extinguished by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel. There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and no one was injured.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 7 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 2 reported burglaries. There were also 5 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 3 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 4 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
