Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 9:55pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Mullet Bay Road and Echo Lane in St. George’s involving two cars. It appears that one vehicle was traveling along Mullet Bay Road while the other was traveling along Echo Lane when they collided at the junction. The drivers of both cars were not injured; however the passenger of one of the cars, a 37 year old Warwick woman, complained of back pain. One of the drivers, a 46 year old Devonshire man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 2:15pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Cedarberry Drive. It appears that a car was traveling along Harrington Sound Road when the driver, a 46 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The driver was not injured; however the vehicle was extensively damaged.

Burglary

Around 7:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pompano Beach Road, Southampton residence. It appears that sometime between 7:15am and 7:30pm that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Sony PlayStation 3 video game system, two watches and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 4pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Seabright Avenue, Paget residence. It appears that sometime between 9:15am and 3:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a black 42” Sony flat screen TV, a 14” Samsung flat screen TV and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory - Burglaries

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Also, before retiring to bed at night all windows & doors should be locked with any valuables secured out of sight. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
