Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke - At 9:20pm on Thursday 16th December, Police received a report of a car with gunshot damage. The driver reported that at about 9pm that evening the vehicle was traveling along Deepdale Road West when it was shot at near the junction with Happy Valley Road. The driver and sole occupant, a 32 year old man, was not injured. The vehicle was driven away from the scene and the incident reported a short time later to the police by a relative of the man. Officers immediately attended the area of the shooting and conducted inquiries. The vehicle involved has been impounded and initial forensic examination would suggest that a number of shots had been fired at the car. The motive for the shooting is at this time unclear. An active investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011. Witness Appeal - Serious Injury RTC

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 3:55am Thursday on Crow Lane in Pembroke near the junction with Corkscrew Hill. The victim, a 24 year old Warwick woman, remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital . At last check she was in critical condition. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and any witness or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PC Mervin Homer on 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 7pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Hilltop Drive, Southampton residence. It appears that sometime between 1:45pm and 6:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 6:30pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at an East Shore Lane, Sandys parish residence. It appears that sometime during the day on Thursday an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a flat screen TV and an item of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9:20am on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cedar Avenue, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime during the day on Wednesday an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory - Burglaries

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Also, before retiring to bed at night all windows & doors should be locked with any valuables secured out of sight. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
