December 12 - Weekend Report

Boat Fire - Around 11am on Saturday, Police including Police vessel Rescue 1 with officers from the Marine Unit as well as Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded to a report of a boat on fire in Mullet Bay, St. George’s. The fire was extinguished by firefighters at the scene. The boat was extensively damaged; however no one was injured. There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 6:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. Mark’s Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Verdmont Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along St. Mark’s Road when the rider, a 50 year old Smith’s parish man, lost control. The Smith’s parish man was injured and received first aid at the scene; however he declined further medical treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9:20pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Quarry Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Harrington Sound Road when they collided. The driver of the car, a 19 year old Warwick man and the rider of the motorcycle, a 36 year old St. George’s man, were injured; however the motorcycle rider left the scene on foot and was later arrested in the Blue Hole Hill, Hamilton parish area on suspicion of impaired driving. The St. George’s man received treatment for his injuries at the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre after being detained for failing the alco-analyzer test. Both vehicles were damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 7pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Parsons Road and The Glebe Road in Pembroke involving two cars. It appears that one vehicle was traveling along Parsons Road while the other vehicle was traveling along The Glebe Road when they collided at the junction. The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured; however both cars were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 1:25pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Dock Hill involving a car and a van. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided. The drivers of both vehicles were apparently uninjured; however the car and van were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
