November 2 - Weekly Review

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

During the week of Monday, October 25th – Monday, November 1st 2010 there were:

  • Reported Injury Collisions = 19
  • Reported Damage Only Collisions = 41
  • Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving = 10
  • Vehicles Reported Taken Without Their Owners’ Consent = 23
  • Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: St. George’s = 2, Hamilton parish = 2, Smith’s parish = 1, Pembroke = 6, Paget = 3, Warwick = 6, Southampton = 2 and Sandys parish = 1.

Most of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with 1 car and 1 pedal cycle also reported stolen during the period. Of the 23 vehicles reported stolen, 4 were subsequently recovered, including the car.

Missing Juvenile Katrina Every - Found

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 17 year old Katrina Every. Ms. Every [pictured right] was found safe and well by Police this morning (Tuesday, November 2nd).

Burglary

Around 9:10pm on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Winton Hill Lane, Hamilton parish residence. It appears that sometime between 8:40am and 7:45pm that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:20pm on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Ocean Sands Drive, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime between 12:20pm and 3:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
