Burglary - Around 4:20pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at Chatterbox Preschool in Southampton. It appears that sometime between 6:30pm on Friday and 8:30am on Saturday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole two laptop computers and a quantity of loose change. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 6:05pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Grape Bay Drive, Paget residence. American visitors to the island stated that sometime between 2:30pm and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home where they were staying while it was unoccupied, stealing a quantity of cash. The suspect, who was apparently shirtless at the time, is described as a white male of slim build, approximately 5’ 10” tall with a hairy chest, wearing blue trunks; he is also said to be bald and in his early 40s. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 1:45pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Ferry Road, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime between 10am and 1pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 42” Panasonic flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory - Burglaries

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 11:45pm on Friday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Manse Road involving a car and a jeep. It appears that the vehicles were traveling along Harbour Road when they collided. The driver of the car, a 28 year old Warwick man and his passenger, a 66 year old Warwick man, were injured. The driver of the jeep, a 20 year old Southampton man, was not injured. The occupants of the car were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment and later released. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 5 reported burglaries. There were also 9 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 6 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 5 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
