Burglary - Around 5:10am on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a burglary at Grotto Bay Beach Hotel in Hamilton parish. It appears that an unknown man brandishing a bladed article and a blunt object gained entry into a guest room at the premises. The intruder demanded money from the occupants and made good his escape with a quantity of cash. The victims, a 60 year old man and a 61 year old woman (husband & wife), were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment; however the visiting American couple’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The suspect is described as a 6’ tall man wearing a black hat. An active investigation is underway by detectives from the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit. Around 5am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at The Wharf Hotel in Paget. It appears that around 4am an unknown man gained entry into a guest room at the premises. The intruder demanded money from the occupant and made good his escape with a quantity of cash. The victim, a 28 year old Australian man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The visitor’s injuries are not life threatening. The suspect is described as a dark skinned man of slim build, approximately 5’8” tall. An active investigation is underway by detectives from the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit. Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys parish

Around 3:40am on Sunday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident in the Broome Street, Sandys parish area. On arrival officers conducted a thorough search of the vicinity. Forensic evidence found subsequently suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured. An active investigation into this matter is underway. Robbery

Around 2:45am on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a robbery. It appears that the victim, a 28 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Happy Valley Road in Pembroke when he was accosted by two unknown men. The Pembroke man was injured and the assailants made good their escape on foot with the victim’s wallet containing personal items. The suspects are described as two black men wearing helmets; one was taller than the other. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
