Arrests For Giving a False Name

The Bermuda Police Service is cautioning members of the community about using another person’s name when asked to identify themselves to a Police officer. This after an officer stopped a 21 year old man for a traffic offence at 2am on Wednesday in the Blue Hole Hill, Hamilton parish area. He gave the officer his brother’s name; however five minutes later that brother, a 19 year old man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving by the same officer in the same location. When asked, the 19 year old man gave his 21 year old brother’s name. As a result both men were arrested and detained.
