October 10 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 7am on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that around 6:45am that day the complainant, a 33 year old Pembroke man, was walking in the area of St. John’s Church graveyard in Pembroke when he was accosted by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article. The suspect took a quantity of cash from the complainant before running towards Marsh Folly Road and escaping on a black motorcycle in the Pembroke Marsh area. The Pembroke man was not injured. The suspect is described as approximately 5’11” tall of stocky build wearing all black clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 4:50pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Smith’s parish residence. It appears that sometime on Monday, October 4th an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of electronic items and jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:20pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Rock Oven Lane, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime during that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
