Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke - Around 10:30am on Monday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident on Parsons Road in Pembroke. The victim, a 27 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. An active investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Burglary

Around 10:50pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke residence. It appears that an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while the residents were inside. The intruder stole a wallet containing a quantity of cash and personal items before making good his escape. The occupants were not injured. The suspect is described as a 6’ tall brown skinned man with his head covered. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 3 reported burglaries. There were also 13 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 12 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 6 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
