Disturbance/Assault - Around 1:30am on Friday, Police received a report of a disturbance/assault outside The Bistro at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that the victim, a 32 year old Pembroke man, was assaulted by a group of men. As a result he sustained serious injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The Pembroke man is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Police Station on 295-0011.

Robbery

At 2:50pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that earlier the victim, a taxi driver, picked up three young men from outside Brown & Co. on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton and transported them to the Cedar Hill, Warwick area. As the taxi entered St. Mary’s Church parking lot the passengers robbed the taxi driver, removing a quantity of cash from his pocket before exiting the taxi and fleeing on foot through St. Mary’s Church graveyard. The taxi driver, a 74 year old Warwick man, was not injured. The first suspect is described as a medium brown skinned man, approximately 5’7” tall of slim build with close cut hair wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt. The second suspect is described as slightly darker skinned than the first and was wearing different clothing but had similar characteristics. All three suspects are believed to be 18 – 24 years of age. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Search Continues for Calvin Hansey Sr.

Police officers continue to conduct systematic searches throughout the island for 75 year old Calvin Hansey Sr.; however, he has not been located so far. The Bermuda Police Service would like to take this opportunity to commend those members of the public that are also assisting in looking for Mr. Hansey, who has been missing for a week now.

Mr. Hansey is described as dark skinned, 5’9” tall of slim build and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue boxer shorts. Mr. Hansey is known to walk daily in the area of Montpelier Road, Middle Road and North Shore Road, Devonshire. Anyone who may have any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011 immediately.
