Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving

At 11:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Sommersall Road involving four vehicles. It appears that a car was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when the driver, a 60 year old Smith’s parish man, lost control. As a result the car collided with a parked motorcycle which in turn struck another parked motorcycle; that motorcycle then collided with a parked car. The driver of the car was not injured and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car the Smith’s parish man was driving received extensive front end damage. One of the parked motorcycles was extensively damaged while the other received moderate damage. The parked car received relatively minor damage. The parked vehicles were apparently unattended at the time. Inquiries are underway and a court appearance is anticipated.
