Missile Thrown At Police Station

At 10:50pm on Tuesday, Police officers and Reserve Police officers were at St. George’s Police Station when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the building. It landed in front of a Police vehicle and was quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher by the officers. Another Molotov cocktail was found in a nearby garden; it was also quickly extinguished by the officers. No damage was caused by the Molotov cocktails and a search of the area for the culprit(s) did not locate anyone.

Assault

At 7:25pm on Tuesday, Police attended KEMH after a reported assault. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 21 year old Warwick man, who stated that around 7:15pm he was riding his motorcycle in the Angle Street/North Street/Dutton Avenue area of Pembroke when a group of young men stood in the road, blocking his path. The Warwick man attempted to avoid the group of young men; however, they proceeded to attack him, knocking him from his cycle. The suspects then beat the 21 year old man’s hands with an unknown object before a passing motorist intervened and they made good their escape. The victim was treated at KEMH for cuts to his right hand and a laceration to his abdomen and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory – Joint Training Exercise

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that from Friday, November 3rd until Sunday, November 5th 2006, the Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Fire Service and the Bermuda Regiment will be taking part in a joint training exercise.

We are asking for the public’s co-operation and patience during the exercise, as various elements of the essential services perform their tasks in different locations around the island. Additionally, the public should not be alarmed if they hear sirens or other loud noises during this joint training exercise.

Halloween Activity

From 4pm Tuesday, October 31 to 4am Wednesday, November 1, 2006 there were 25 reports of eggs/missiles being thrown, 2 reports of loud noise, 4 reports of willful damage and 3 arrests made for outstanding warrants.
