Update: Fatal Marine Incident - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 3 year old Stanwondae Swan. The young boy died after being pulled from the water at Kindley Field Road, St. George's near the BAS kitchen around 1:30pm on Sunday. A 2 year old boy who was also pulled from the water at that same location remains in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and at last check was in stable condition. Police are appealing for anyone with any information or anyone that saw three children, ages 2, 3, and 4, playing along the water’s edge on Kindley Field Road, St. George’s opposite the BAS kitchen prior to and leading up to the time assistance was provided to them. In addition, officers are interested in speaking with anyone who may have captured the incident on any recording device e.g. camcorder, cellular phone etc. Anyone who can assist, no matter how insignificant they believe their information may be, is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 299-4477. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family of Stanwondae Swan.

Injury RTC

Around 3pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Manse Road. It appears that a jeep was traveling west on Harbour Road when the driver, a 36 year old Warwick man, lost control. As a result, the vehicle collided with a utility pole. The driver and one of his two passengers, a 32 year old Devonshire woman, sustained apparently minor head injuries. The other passenger, a 9 year old Devonshire boy, sustained a cut to his left leg. The jeep received extensive front end damage. No further Police action is anticipated at this time.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 8 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries. There were also 12 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 8 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
