Update: Teenagers Injured in Assault - At last check the 16 year old young man from Sandys parish more seriously injured in an assault that occurred in the area of Tankard Lane in Sandys parish around 1:37am Saturday was being treated on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. It is anticipated that he will be released in the near future. The other victim, a 16 year old young man from Pembroke, sustained a swollen right eye. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit at 234-1010 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Update – Man Injured at Riddell’s Bay

The victim, who is apparently a 17 year old young man from Devonshire and not a 19 year old man as initially reported, is expected to be moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward after being injured jumping off a dock at Riddell’s Bay, Southampton around 5:25pm Friday. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Damage Only RTC

Around 6:45am today (Sunday), Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Wilkinson Avenue in Hamilton parish near the junction with Fractious Street. It appears that a SUV was traveling north on Wilkinson Avenue when the driver, a 37 year old Southampton man, lost control. As a result the vehicle collided with a wall. The driver was uninjured; however the SUV was extensively damaged. The wall and a section of the associated property were also damaged. No further Police action is anticipated.

Around 3pm on Friday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with King Street involving an ambulance and a truck. It appears that the ambulance was traveling west on Front Street responding to an emergency call with its lights & siren activated when the truck attempted to exit from the dock area on to Front Street and the vehicles collided. The drivers of the vehicles were not injured. The truck received relatively minor rear end damage while the ambulance received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
