Injury RTC - At 8:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Princess Estate Road in Pembroke involving two cars and a motorcycle. It appears that traffic traveling west and east on North Shore Road had stopped to allow a car to exit Princess Estate Road. However, as the car exited Princess Estate Road a motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and a collision occurred. The rider of the motorcycle, a 34 year old Pembroke man, sustained head and facial injuries as well as bruising to his right shoulder and leg. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The drivers of the cars, a 25 year old Pembroke man and a 30 year old Southampton woman, were not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the cars received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 2pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Reid Street Extension (between Spurling Hill & King Street) in the City of Hamilton. It appears that the victim, a 29 year old Pembroke woman, was riding a motorcycle in the area when she dropped her cellular phone at the junction of Reid Street and King Street. As a result she parked her motorcycle nearby in order to retrieve the phone. However, as she walked into the road to get the phone, a car traveling into the City of Hamilton collided with her. She sustained an injury to her right arm and back pain. She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 47 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The car received minor damage to one of its mirrors.

Update - Utility Pole Down

Around 12:20pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a utility pole down in the Court Street/Ewing Street, Pembroke area. It appears that a truck was transporting a crane through the area when it got entangled in some overhead wires, causing the utility pole to break and fall to the ground. No one was injured. Traffic was diverted away from the scene as BELCO, BTC and Cablevision effected repairs.
