Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro, Officer In Charge of the Serious Crime Unit - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that 25 year old Antonio Myers of Pembroke appeared in Hamilton Magistrates Court today, charged with the murder of Kumi Harford.

Members of the public will recall that at 5am on 5th December 2009, Mr. Harford was shot multiple times as he drove in his car on Mission Lane, just off St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke.

Over the last several months, detectives from the Serious Crime Unit have been investigating this, and other murders and shootings. The charges in this case are as a result of significant investigative efforts to bring these gunmen to justice.

As the Bermuda Police Service continues the process of reviewing all of the outstanding murders and shootings, it is anticipated that more persons will appear in court on these types of charges.

Again, it is important to recognize the members of the public that have come forward to lend assistance to the Police in these cases, and also to recognize their resolve, and integrity. The public play an integral role in almost every investigation the Police conduct and we would like to remind the public that crime cannot be solved by the Police alone.
